Essentials of Christianity
The studies on this page are designed to provide information on some of the fundamental teachings that characterize Christian belief and doctrine. Because they are non-denominational in nature they may differ from a particular Christian denomination or sect's beliefs. The central focus is on the work and teaching of Jesus Christ who was Creator before His incarnation. As the Son of God He was distinct but not separate from God and retained His Divine nature while at the same time taking on humanity being born of the virgin Mary. Being fully man and fully God His shed blood was worth more than all humanity and therefore able to be applied as the atoning sacrifice to satisfy God's Holy and Righteous Law which demands the death penalty for sin. True Christianity is based upon becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ and living the same self-sacrificial life that He did through the power and agency of the Holy Spirit.
