REVELATION Bible Studies

This book's full title is the "Revelation of Jesus Christ" and was authored by the longest living apostle, John, around 100 AD. While liberal scholars interpret the apocalyptic literature simply as coded messages relating to events occurring in the Roman Empire in John's day only, many groups including the earliest century Christians and Evangelical Christians today believe the material is almost entirely focussed on "end-time" events at the close of the age of man. In this series of studies, this author believes that while there was clearly a pastoral element to the book that pertained to the time John lived (the 7 churches of Asia Minor), the primary focus of the book is designed to be on the work of Jesus Christ as the Lamb of God, our High Priest in Heaven and our coming Saviour. The book details the transition from this society to a new one established as the Kingdom of God. Its last chapters give glimpses into the distant future beyond this physical existence. The purpose of this book is not to establish dates for specific events yet to occur but to give hope to all Christians that in the end "we win".
