GENESIS Bible Studies

Genesis is the first book of the Bible.  While many scholars suggest that it is largely a work of fiction produced by religiously motivated editors after the return from the Babylonian exile, as conservative Christians we must take the view that it is the truly inspired word of God that is profitable for doctrine, reproof and instruction in righteousness. As such there is ample evidence to agree with the authorship of Moses using both oral and written  older traditions that he was able to access from his time in Ancient Egypt. While events such as the Creation and Worldwide Flood are treated with derision by some and scepticism even within the Christian community, the main question to ask is whether theses events are too hard for God to perform.  If we take the book of Genesis at face value we fine answers to some of the great questions facing mankind such as "Why are we here on earth?" "Why are we so different from all other creatures?" "Is there anything else or a greater purpose for us?" Jesus Christ treated Genesis as both truthful and accurate and referred to the book with many references. Throughout the New Testament there are over 60 references to the book of Genesis. As such studies of this book provide foundational material necessary for our Christian walk.
